At a distance of 32 kms North of the airport, a lush tropical paradise in North Male' Atoll, ASDU is famous for its live house reef jealously guarded and protected by it's management.

With 30 bungalows facing the beach, it's one of the smallest, and probably the most informally managed, resort island in the Maldives.

The management endeavours to retain the traditional simplicity and the natural balance of the island, while providing varied services - facilities for an enjoyable and satisfying holiday.

The natural beauty of this tiny island is in its white sandy beach that recedes to crystal clear waters of the lagoon and in its exotic coral reef abundant in tropical fish of unimaginable colours.

The fish literally swim with you and occasionaly nudge you for new acquaintance.

The reef, about 20 to 30 meters from the beach, is ideal for beginner-divers and for snorkeling.

For the experienced diver there are the special off-shore reef diving spots as well as the channels that open to the Indian Ocean to have a rare glimpse of what life is with the undersea predators.

The Diving Centre is divided into two separate areas not far from each other.

The first is located under the island's luxuriant palm trees and acts as depot and storage area for the client's skin diving equipment. At only few steps from the beach, it allows divers easy access to the boats leaving for the diving.

The second area acts as a workshop and depot for the diving material.

On arrival on the island all the clients receive a briefing on the sporting activities of the Diving Centre.

Those who decide to attend the skin diving course for obtaining PADI or SSI licences, will be able to spend four days admiring the wonders of the underwater world of the Maldives.

It is also possible to take part in Discovery Dive from the beach that offers the chance to experience the thrill of breathing under water for the first time with specific equipment, and to swim few metres from the surface with unbelievably beautiful fish.

Diving teachers are professionals, while diving excursions are held by Gold Card holders (at least 500 diving experience).

Utilized diving materials have been chosen between best brands and annualy revised or substituted.
